What is it?

Bowen Therapy is a gentle, hands-on technique that focuses on re-aligning the body by applying specific moves over muscles and soft tissues. This process stimulates the body’s natural healing mechanisms, encouraging balance and relief from various conditions. The treatment is non-invasive, making it suitable for people of all ages.

Who can it help?

Bowen Therapy is suitable for everyone, from infants to the elderly. It is particularly effective for those experiencing:

  • Musculoskeletal pain (back, neck, shoulders, hips, knees, etc.)

  • Sports injuries (strains, sprains, sciatica, plantar fasciitis)

  • Respiratory issues (asthma, bronchitis, sinusitis, hay fever)

  • Digestive problems (IBS, chronic indigestion, colitis)

  • Stress-related conditions (anxiety, depression, chronic fatigue)

  • Neurological conditions (Bell’s Palsy, Parkinson’s Disease)

  • Hormonal imbalances (PMS, menopause, pregnancy-related issues)

Bowen Therapy is often sought out by individuals who have tried other treatments without success or who prefer a more holistic approach to health.

How is it done?

Bowen Therapy works by addressing the body's soft tissues, targeting areas of tension and misalignment. The practitioner uses precise, gentle moves over muscles and connective tissues, which activate the body’s proprioceptors—nerves that help regulate muscle tension.

This promotes spinal realignment and relieves pressure on nerves, allowing the body to self-correct and heal. The treatment often includes short breaks during sessions to allow the body to process and integrate the changes, leading to lasting relief from pain and discomfort.

Bowen Technique

The Bowen Technique is a non-invasive soft tissue remedial method that is suitable for adults and children of all ages. Targeted movements are made over connective tissues, muscles, tendons and ligaments at specific points on the body, which bring about a reduction in pain and a return to better health.

As an assessment-led Bowen practitioner, I assess and treat the whole body. This allows me to find and treat the root cause of your problem - as opposed to just treating the symptoms.

Bowen therapy can be effective in relieving aches or pains caused by muscular and skeletal problems and neurological conditions. It can also manage symptoms caused by hormonal imbalance or dysfunction of organs, reduces stress and speed up recovery from illness and injury

Bowen Lymphatic Drainage

Bowen Lymphatic Drainage is a therapeutic technique that applies Bowen Technique principles to enhance the movement and drainage of lymphatic fluid throughout the body. By following the path of the lymphatic system and focusing on lymph node areas or ‘lymph hotspots’, it ensures that these areas are free from restrictions.

This optimises the chances of maintaining a steady lymphatic flow, which plays a pivotal role in the body’s immune system.

What is The Lymphatic System?

The lymphatic system is a network of tubes, tissues and organs that runs throughout your body. It is part of your immune system which helps protect you from infection by fighting bacteria and other infections destroying old or abnormal cells such as cancer. It also affects your cardiovascular health, gut health, chronic pain, and nervous health system. In fact, the health throughout your body.
