Privacy Policy Updates

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website. Accessibility Statement

Higher Health is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of circumstance and ability. We aim to adhere as closely as possible to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0, Level AA), published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make Web content more accessible for people with disabilities. Conformance with these guidelines will help make the web more user friendly to everyone.

Whilst Higher Health strive to adhere to the guidelines and standards for accessibility, it is not always possible to do so in all areas of the website and we are currently working to achieve this. Be aware that due to the dynamic nature of the website, minor issues may occasionally occur as it is updated regularly. We are continually seeking out solutions that will bring all areas of the site up to the same level of overall web accessibility.

If you have any comments and or suggestions relating to improving the accessibility of our site, please don't hesitate to contact us. Your feedback will help us make improvements.

We have also integrated The UserWay Website Accessibility Widget to our site, it can be used by clicking on the person icon, loaded at the top right of our webpage, or using/pressing keys (CTRL+U). It's features allow you to; adjust contrast, highlight links, increase text sizes, increase text spacing, pause animations, alter the font to Dyslexie, alter the cursor size, change your cursor to a reading mask or reading guide, increase line height/spacing, adjust the text alignments and alter the saturation.

Limitations:

Along with the usual accessibility statement above, here at Higher Health we also wanted to share with you some of the additional considerations and thoughts behind the design decisions we chose.

We believe that transparency, consistency and respect are important and we hope that by sharing our reasons for the choices we make you can feel the intensions, ethos, and care we strive for.

Underpinning our project, we understand accessibility to be a constant learning and developing journey, constantly reminded that you can only experience what you encounter.

If something on our site is presenting as a barrier or issue for you we encourage you to let us know! We always want to learn and include more!

Minimal page usage:

We have chosen to use minimal pages on our website in order to try and make understanding the therapies we offer and what they entail easier to understand. By providing a consistent flow information, we hope that the comprehension of information will be easier, and not broken up by having to switch between pages. We do acknowledge that, for some this may be overwhelming - which is why we have tried to break up the information by using spacing/design elements and anchor menus points, so they too can still have pauses between information.

Anchor menus:

We understand that for some the motion effect created by the anchor menu items may be distractive and present a barrier. For this we apologise. We have notified wix and asked for a way to reduce/lessen this effect.

As stated above we have chosen to use this kind of anchoring system to enable people to navigate our content in a way that remains familiar in its design navigation as a traditional page menu. However have also tried to balance this with generating a clear flow of information to enable a more easy comprehension of the project as a whole.

Language:

We understand that the words we use and how we use them can be, in of themselves, a barrier. We try to be clear in our communications and describe our services and therapies in easy to understand terms.

Whether overly complicated, gendered, ablest, or containing micro aggressions, as such, we have tried to focus upon how we communicate and these choices we make.
