Your first session may include extra consultation time and is priced at £50.00.

Follow up sessions are priced at £45.00. Sessions generally last from 45mins to an hour.

With busy lives juggling work and family commitments, I am compassionate to the reality that you will need to reschedule appointments from time to time. Generally speaking I do not charge fees under reasonable notice or planned changes. However, please note that cancellations within 24 hours of your appointment time will incur half the treatment fee and if less than 12 hours or no-shows will incur the full fee which will be added at your next visit.

Many policies allow for a quota of complementary health claims and Bowen Therapy is often included - however this can depend on your individual policy. Often there will be a set number of session allowed within any year, so it's worth checking with your insurer.

Yes, I am fully insured and am also a member of Bowen Therapist Professional Association (BTPA) and Complimentary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) and I abide by the high standards of these bodies.

​Our clinic is based in Westburn Business Centre, a requisitioned mock-Tudor mansion on the perimeter of Prestwick aerodrome. The location is quiet and well placed for those travelling from all parts of Ayrshire, Renfrewshire and Glasgow.

When you arrive...

We're on the ground floor with one low step up to the entrance to navigate. There is currently no wheelchair ramp to avoid the step.

There's an intercom at the front door.

I'm in Room G2 and will be listed under our new name of Higher Health.

Press 2 followed by the 'enter' button and I'll buzz you in. The entry instructions are also on a sign by the intercom inside the main door.

There’s a comfortable public waiting area with a small sofa and coffee table in the main entrance hall just as you come in which you can use whilst waiting for your appointment if needed. I will come out to greet you when you arrive.

Both gents and ladies toilets are on the ground floor.

Gents is located just inside the main entrance door to your left before the internal door entry.

Ladies is inside the main building along the corridor to the right of the waiting area and turn right at the end of the corridor where you will see the toilet straight ahead of you. I can show you the first time!

The entry to the clinic is off the entrance hall. I will let you know when I’m ready for you and show you in.

There are chairs in the treatment room for you and for any persons accompanying you in your session.

There will be low volume relaxing music playing in the room but I’m happy to turn it off if you prefer not to have it on.

There is no harsh lighting in the room, it’s lit with natural light from the window and low brightness floor lamps.

We will conduct a full assessment and re-assesment each session before starting your treatment and also at the conclusion to confirm the work we have applied has been effective. We work mostly on a comfortable treatment couch but may also carry out some seated and standing work where appropriate and needed. During the session there will be occasional short breaks where I will not be in contact with the body. This is normal and is simply offering an opportunity for the body's response to the soft tissue stimulation I have applied.

We work fully clothed so please wear or bring light loose clothing to wear for your treatment session preferably avoiding jeans, tight/restrictive clothing, suits and formal work-wear. You are welcome to bring clothing to change into on the premises.

The number of treatment sessions that you will need depends very much on the nature of your condition, and whether we are working to resolve an acute pain and get you moving again, or dealing with a chronic pattern that may require more visits to stabilise and improve.

In many, but not all cases we will work over 3 sessions and I may ask new clients with chronic issues to consider this as a minimal commitment to offer yourself the opportunity for both meaningful change and stability of outcome. In all cases, treatment will be tailored to your specific problem based on my measurements and assessments. I will not necessarily focus on symptomatic areas of pain. This is normal and consistent with my complementary approach and holistic view of the body.

Although many clients feel immediate relief at the conclusion of their visit, I remind them that the body and nervous response continues to evaluate and respond to changes beyond the window of the session. For this reason, I recommend that all my clients are patient enough to wait 48-72 hours to allow for changes to stabilise. It is VERY IMPORTANT to move, particularly to walk, avoiding long periods of sitting post session. Gravity and movement are the great integrators!
